Lump, Revised Edition
From boy to man. Follow David’s extraordinary gambling/casino career as he goes from penny up the wall, greyhound racing, dealing poker in a spieler, all before he was sixteen, to finally becoming a croupier in Soho, London. Lump is an eye-opening insight into the mechanics of the casino business.
Ride the waves from, London to Miami, The Bahamas, New York, LA, and Puerto Rico, as David lends himself to a life of indulgence in the cruise ship, and villainy world. Cocaine, beautiful women and ‘The Mob’, all have a part to play in what is essentially, a modern-day love story!
About the Author
Born in the early 1960’s to an Irish immigrant family, David grew up on one of the toughest council estates in London. As is the case with a lot of boys from this environment he dreamt of becoming a footballer, but before he had even left primary school, he discovered another world. Gambling!
It was this calling, that led him on a path of adventure from London to Miami, the Bahamas, New York, Los Angeles and many more exotic locations too numerous to mention.
A natural born numbers man, follow David’s career as an extraordinary set of circumstances gave him the opportunity to take part in various nefarious activities including dealing an illegal craps game for the mob in New York.
His story is a compelling, hilarious and somewhat damning diary into the workings and mechanics of the casino business where he was employed for more than twenty years. Now retired from that game, these days David can be found in Brighton, England working as a Security Operative (bouncer) where the journey it seems, never ends.
Hope you enjoy the book.
David

A fabulous trip down memory lane. Well worth a read for any ex ship croupiers
"I had the pleasure of working with Monza back in the early 90’s. Heady times and a bundle of laughs. This book brought back some great memories and for anyone wondering what we all got up to that didn’t work on ships it’s worthy of a read. Cheers David. Looking forward to a sequel."

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. "Lump" does very well to convey not just a unique and exciting story, but also to capture a very pivotal time of change for the city of Miami and a glimpse into it's "Miami Vice" roots! Well worth a read - don't miss it!Nick Walsh
I knew David from working on ships in the 1980s. I’ve read both his books. What a great guy. I found both very compelling reading. I read them twice😜 looking forward to book no 3 and possibly a movie‼️ Good luck David 😜😜Gillian Sleeth
This book is the summers " must read". It has everything you want in a book. It's outrageously funny in parts. It' heartbreakingly sad in others. Down right dangerous as hell and takes you on a journey you might not expect. It takes several twists and turns that the reader might not see.Ian Macdonald
Refreshing read, love story, and eye-opening insights into shenanigans of cruise ships casinos.Joseph
I enjoyed reading it. Brought back plenty of memories about my time in London and you had some very insightful commentary on the casino business in general. There is a movie there for sure if someone has the balls to do it. I thought it might have been too casino orientated and therefore a little too niche for a wider market but as your story unfolds that isn't the case. There is a good tale for the wider audience.-
